Watch Lisa explain the coolseats process

“I’m Lisa from the Church Block Cafe in Eglinton. We really love our coolseat. It was a project subsidised by the EPA. We found that it’s been really helpful to have our cafe waste recycled into the worm farm.

“It’s really easy to use. We are able to make our own soil, and we use that on our own gardens. We think it’s a really friendly project and something that suits our needs in a small cafe here on a daily basis.

“Working with the coolseat, we need to try to ensure that it’s a healthy mix for the worm farm, not overload it with too much of one or another. Just checking on the water level, topping them up when it’s been very hot. The worms are basically doing all the work, so it’s not a lot for us, other than keeping an eye on it and monitoring levels.”
